We Sámi are the indigenous people of Scandinavia and have been living and working with reindeers for centuries. We have countless generations of knowledge and experience of the fascinating and charming creature that has helped us survive life in this cold and extreme nature of the north. The reindeer is the true hero of the Arctic. We would like to invite you to visit our Sámi camp and join us for a genuine and family-friendly reindeer sledding safari with an amazing view of the famous Lyngen Alp mountains. Reindeer Sledding and Sami Culture
We would like to give you the opportunity to become better acquainted with the Sami culture and join a pleasant and fun Reindeer Sledding in beautiful North Norwegian nature. The Reindeer Sledding is an important part of the experience as the oldest known form of transport in the north and central part of the Sami culture. The sledding takes place as a “raid” where each reindeer and sled are bound together in a long row with the lead reindeer in the front.
