Nye Hjorten Teater is a brand new, privately owned folk theater in the heart of Trondheim city centre.

The theatre’s initiator is Ole Robert Reitan. He had long harbored the dream of a new folk theater in his childhood town, and when he talked about it – loudly and enthrallingly – it suddenly came to fruition. It didn’t take long before both the building site and the architect were in place, and when the Trønder trio Mads Bones, Kyrre Havdal and Olve Løseth entered the project, the stage was set for the event of the ages in Norwegian theater history. REITAN and Bones/Havdal/Løseth entered into marriage, and created the operating company Nye Hjorten Teater AS together. They have set out to create Saturdays all week, and offer five-star theater experiences to the broad strata of the people. A visit to Nye Hjorten Teater should be a welcome escape from everyday life, with entertainment in a special class.
