Prelaten Kro og Scene opened in 1975 for the first time by Finn Steffen Johansen. Prelaten quickly became known to be a place for culture in Tromsø. This went on for the next 20 years. Artists from all over the world preformed on our stage, locals, tourists and students all over Norway came to be a part of. After the Prelaten closed in 1995, various concepts and events have taken place.

In 2015, Arthur and Tone Mack, the fourth generation of the original homeowners, reopened Prelaten Kro og Scene in the Soul of the Old. Today, traditional “inn” food are served, meat, fish and of course our famous reindeer burger.
