Museum of Natural History and Archaeology

The NTNU University Museum’s last opening day is April 1 2026.

The NTNU University Museum will be upgraded and will therefore close to the public on April 2, 2026. The medieval exhibition in the Suhm House is already closed. This includes the medieval woman Tora.

Why are we closing?
The upgrade will improve security and climate control, allowing valuable collections to be safely displayed to the public.

How long will the museum remain closed?
The museum will be closed for at least two years, with the goal of reopening before 2030.

Services that will remain open
We will continue to offer some public activities, such as city walks and behind‑the‑scenes tours of the collections. Our exhibition “The Church Under the Street”, located in the DIGS premises at Krambugata 2, will also remain open. Ringve Botanical Garden is open every day, all year round.

We look forward to welcoming you back to modern facilities with new, engaging and inspiring exhibitions. Thank you for your patience, we look forward to sharing the renewed museum with you!
