Galleri K


Galleri K was established by Kristin and Ben Frija in 1977 and have since then been located in Bjørn Farmanns gate 2. The first artists they started working with were Svein Bolling, John David Nielsen, Svein Strand, Johannes Vinjum and Frans Widerberg. In the early 90´s Gallery K began to show younger artists such as Kjell Bjørgengen, Kristian Blystad and Kjell Torriset. At the same time the gallery had historical shows with Frederik Collett, Frida Hansen, Ludvig Karsten and Harald Sohlberg among others. In 1994 Galleri K started showing international artists including Gunther Förg, Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Martin Kippenberger, Jeff Koons, Albert Oehlen, Thomas Struth and Christopher Wool. Since then the gallery has shown German and American art frequently.

In addition to the above mentioned artists, the gallery represents Darren Almond, Eilif Amundsen, Kjell Bjørgeengen, Kristian Blystad, Svein Bolling, Sara Christensen, David Claerbout, Thomas Demand,  Bodil Furu, Anne-Karin Furunes, Till Gerhard,  Andreas Gursky, Else Marie Hagen, Thore Heramb, Candida Höfer, Axel Hütte, Steinar Jakobsen, Rune Johansen, Florian Maier-Aichen, Mikkel McAlinden, Christian Messel, John David Nielsen, Nina Roos, Michael Sailstorfer, Thorbjørn Sørensen, Svein Strand, Thaddeus Strode, Thomas Struth, Mette Tronvoll, Johannes Vinjum, Kira Wager, Franz West, Frans Widerberg, Johannes Wohnseifer and Stian Ådlandsvik. Lately Galleri K is representing Are Blytt, Franz Gertsch, Silje Linge Haaland, Christian Tony Norum and Eirik Senje.
